ABSTRACT
Background : Healthy family can be achieved if the family can carry out family health ditties well Family duties play an important role in the lives of almost all elderly people. Elderly people who have hypertension in general many live withJam*. The role offamily members in carrying out family duties can be used as a solution for hypertensive elderly to get family siffort in the maintenance of their health. Aim : This study aims to find out the influence of FatherHood (PAK Cerdik) on the confidence of the head of the family and increased knowledge of elderly hypertension to maintain health. Methods : this type ofresearch is quasi expenmetal pre and post test nonequivalent control group. Samples were used by 30 respondents in the treatment group and 30 respondents in the control grout, and sampling techniques used picosive sampling. Data analysis used paired t test and frequency distribution. Result : The average confidence score of the family head of the pre-test treatment group ens 56.50 and the post test was 67.66 with the average difference between the two groups being -11.16 and the standard deviation was 8.87, while the average value of the pre-test control group was 43 and the post test was 43.16 with the average difference between the two groups was -0.16 and the standard deviation was 4.25. The statitic paired t-test result ofp value of 2-tailed obtained in the treatment group was 0.000 less than the significance value of 0.05 orp value < a = 0.05, while the control group was 0.83 greater than the significance value of 0.05 or p value > a = 0.05. The average knowledge of elderly hypertension pre-test treatment group was 67.90 and post test was 76.43 with the average difference between the two groups was -8.53 and the standard deviation was 12.73, while the average value of the pre-test control group ens 59.60 and the post test was 58.43 with the average difference between the two groups was 1.16 and the standard deviation ens 4.14. The statitic pairad Mat result ofp 2-tailed value obtained in the treatment group was 0.001 less than the significance value of0.05 orp value < a = 0.05, while the control group 0.13 was greater than the significance value of0.05 orp value > a = 0.05. Conclusion : Involving the head of the family in maintaining the health offamily members is proven to increase the confidence of the head of the family. The transfer of knowledge provided by the head of the family can increase the knowledge of hypotensive elderly in maintaining their health, therefore the head ofthe famifr has a strategic role in maintaining the health of the family.
